Is justice possible in Ukraine?
Recent protests in Ukraine have revealed once again that the nation’s system of justice is in no way viable any more. Lots of reform suggestions are heard from everywhere, some of them quite radical, but Ukrainian activists have done much work in this area already. At a Kyiv seminar supported by UN and IRF, they shared their experiences in projects such as providing free judicial guidance for the poor and experimenting with sheriffs in the countryside, plus a cooperation memo was signed. Meaning: more is yet to come.
