New methods to contain HIV/AIDS epidemic in Ukraine
Ukrainian and US experts exchange experience at Lviv training
On 9-11 September in Lviv, ICF “International HIV/AIDS Alliance in Ukraine” conducted an international workshop on quality assurance of data on the epidemic situation. The training was organised in the framework of the project “Involvement of local organizations to develop monitoring and evaluation of HIV / AIDS in Ukraine” (METIDA).
The participants were employees of the Centers for Prevention and Control of AIDS, M&E centers involved in the work with regional data in combating HIV/AIDS, national experts and representatives of the Commission on Data Quality.
Leading experts from the US and Ukraine shared their experience with the participants, including Nathan Smith of the University of California (San Francisco), experts of the Ministry of Health and various Ukrainian NGOs. They familiarized the participants with the guidelines of data quality and focused on practical skills in data quality assessment tool using DQA.
