On 17 November 2014 the Swedish Embassy in Kyiv has launched a three-year project to support Ukraine’s decentralisation process and help local government bodies take on more responsibilities. The project signifies the practical dimension of Western assistance to Ukraine. The ambition is to provide practical support that addresses real needs and issues, backed up by experience by Sweden, other Nordic countries and EU member states.

The project was launched at a top level and inaugurated by a number of dignitaries, including the Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine, Mr Volodymyr Groysman, the Swedish Ambassador to Ukraine, Mr Andreas von Beckerath, as well as the Vice-President of the Swedish Association of Local Authorities and Regions, Ms Carola Gunnarsson. The event took place at Premier Palace Hotel, co-hosted by the Embassy of Sweden and the Swedish Association of Local Authorities and Regions.

The organizers’ cooperation with Arena CS ensured a diplomatically flawless event at the uncompromizingly high level while our PR department attracted attention of the media and gathered over 10 reporter crews from leading Ukrainian channels for the presentation.
